Summer Livin' & Outer Space

Suddenly I remembered that I have a Blog, and that I should update it with current and recent photography adventures and photos!

So I left off just as I had gotten my new D800 camera.  I had practiced with a few sunset shots, and a few storm clouds but at the time of my last post hadn't really gone exploring and adventuring with it.

My first big adventure was actually a work training.  I was sent to a ghost town in Idaho called Florence.  There I worked with the Region 1 forest service historic preservation crew and restored an old log cabin that was pretty much the only remaining building of the once booming 6000+ population gold town.  I didn't get too many photos of the work in progress itself (mainly because I was working and not photographing) but the night sky was as dark as I have ever seen, and the opportunity to capture the Milky Way in all it's glory was peak!

Check it out!

Andromeda Galaxy - This shot consists of about 50 different exposure, stacked ontop of each other to reduce noise and improve the detail.
